Coldplay’s ‘Head Full of Dreams’ Concert Will Stream Live in VR For Free

One of the highest grossing tours of all time will be live via the Samsung Gear VR on August 17th.

Getting your hands on Coldplay tickets isn’t an easy task. After all, the British pop sensation has been one of the biggest musical acts in entertainment for years garnering an absurd amount of awards and nominations. So while the stadiums and arenas may be sold-out and shoulder-to-shoulder, there’s still plenty of room to view the action in cyberspace.

On August 17th Samsung and Live Nation will be broadcasting Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams Tour live from Soldier Field in virtual reality via the Samsung Gear VR platform. Fans from over 50 different countries will strap on their headsets for a free viewing of the performance from some of the best seats in the house. VR-users will experience everything that makes a Coldplay performance so legendary, from the absolutely dazzling pyrotechnics, to the masterfully-crafted music all from the comfort of their living room couch.

To join in on the live experience you’ll need both an Oculus-powered Samsung Gear VR headset as well as a compatible Samsung phone. You’ll then simply navigate your way through the Samsung VR service to locate the livestream when it begins August 17th precisely at 8:30pm CT. Samsung will also be providing a full on-demand replay of the show for a short period.

“Through our industry-leading VR hardware and platform ecosystem, we are thrilled to offer Samsung Gear VR owners access to premium, immersive live entertainment and experiences in full 360,” said Michael Schmier, Vice President of Content and Services, Samsung Electronics America. “By partnering with Live Nation and Coldplay, music fans across the globe with Gear VR can tune in to the live concert, experiencing the energy of the show like never before.”

“Live Nation is a trailblazer when it comes to producing live virtual reality concerts, and we’ve been excited to bring Coldplay into the mix since announcing our collaboration with Samsung and Gear VR in late May,” said Kevin Chernett, Executive Vice President, Global Partnerships and Content Distribution, Live Nation. “We not only give fans the best in-seat experience, but we’re also committed to working with the best technologies to provide every music fan an extraordinary concert experience, regardless of where they are.”

As previously stated the show will be streaming LIVE August 17th at 6:30pm Pacific / 9:30pm Eastern for FREE only on the Gear VR platform.

A Head Full of Dreams is Coldplay’s 7th and most recent studio album. The Head Full of Dreams Tour has recently been established as the 5th highest grossing tour of all time with 5 million tickets being sold since March of 2016.
